Another friend got married on Sunday (tea) Monday (banquet)!
As usual, I was the jie mei again, yippie......NOT!
TEA CEREMONY - SUNDAY
First of all, the groom and xiong di sooooooo cannot make it, so uncooperative, so not gallant, in a summary, WAH LAO EH.
There were 3 of us as jie mei and got 4 xiong di.
So as usual, we start with suan tien ku la (STKL)
Wah lao, the stupid groom is damn irritating!!!
First, he asked us to explain the meaning behind the STKL, so fair enough we explain di di da da.
Then he pretended to forget and asked us to explain again! What the freak??
He refused to eat the STKL even when the parents inlaw were in the room, watching him lor!
So we argued (and I really mean argue) to the point that I told him in a very stern voice, "This is symbolic and your parents inlaw were watching, are you going to eat, or not."
And you know what he said "Sure, I will eat lah, but you got to explain to me what it means...etc etc" He seriously tried to talk his way out with his INELOQUENCY and irritating trying to act cute, FAINT!
Fucking third time okay! Until my friend's aunt also got pissed off and told him "This is a necessity, you need to eat it, all right?"
Wah lao eh!!!!!!
After that ang pow only gave a total of $28 for 3 of us - fine, who cares about his money, it's only a token anyway - so we let him off at $28.
The drama didnt end there, ask him to sing and dance - WE PROVIDE MUSIC AND LYRICS - he also didnt want to. And start with his annoying "Okay tell me what the significance of doing this, bla bla bla"
What the freaking shit man - and this is only the second item!!
We, the sisters, were quite pissed off lor, it's like not telling you to strip or anything.
Roll eyes thousand times!
Cannot tahan anymore I told him off! THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I GOT PISSED OFF BEING A JIE MEI, YOU TOTALLY PISSED ME OFF. *Glare and roll eyes*
By then, the 3 jie meis totally pissed and no mood so told him to go up.
Before he went in, one of the jie meis told him to state 5 reasons why he wanted to marry my friend:
1. Because I love her.
2. Because she loves me....errr..errr...
3. Because I love her....err..err...
4. Because she loves me.
I think he is a reincarnation of a spoilt recorder.
Anywaysssss, the xiong dis are more fun people, got gossip about the groom with them and hi hi ha ha in the car also lah.
Then we reached the groom's house at 8am.
We waited for bloody 1/1/2 hour for the relatives to come in and conducted the tea ceremony!
Wah lao! I only heard of relatives waiting for the couple right, I have never waited for so long for relatives to turn up one you know.
Poor my friend hot and uncomfortable in her wedding gown.
So what we do during the 1/1/2 hour? Talk cock with xiong dis, drank 4 cups of tea, drank 3 cups of coffee, prick my eyes with my fingers to stop falling asleep, read newspaper.
Of course we have to pretend to still be chirpy and happy, so that my friend wont feel bad about it lah. Aiyoh.... I think she also sian. So we take lots of photos during to kill some time as well =)
After that we went back to her new house, then to her parents' place again.
I was casually chatting with my friend's sis (forgot her name, so im going to call her jie jie) then we gossip about groom's relatives lor. hahahaha....
I told the jie jie that no worries lah, even though groom very ngiao, but he treats her well, very concerned if my friend felt hot.
Then jie jie sniped "He better treats her well!"
Apparently the week before the wedding, he didnt really care much about my friend and this upset my friend lor.
Haizzz... maybe wedding jitters and stress? I also dont know lah.
So I told jie jie, "Well, the couple smiled and laughed a lot, I guess they are really happy!"
Then jie jie retorted " Zho hi what! + glare". At this point, I confirm know her sis really doesnt like the groom.
WEDDING BANQUET - MONDAY
Then comes Monday evening, I was totally sick and down with fever.
Bride totally pretty with her curls and wedding dress - she looked very sweet and happy!
Me doing reception again, while waiting for guests to arrive, drank 2 glasses of water and lots of potato chips!
So after 7 plus, guests started to arrive.
Most of the guests from the groom side arrived first... My friend's guests also si be ku ku jiao one, most of them came so late!!!
Got drama lor,
At about 8 plus, the groom checked with his sister and sister-inlaw, "So how many % of MY guests have arrived? Oh almost all? Can start already lor?"
Si be infuriating!!!!!!!!! He said this without checking with his bride - who was just standing beside him!!
Then his sister said "Oh, our guests have mostly arrived, but hers (the bride) havent"
Wah lao, very tactless right... my friend already so gan cheong! stupid bimbo.
Then ding dong ding dong on whether to start wedding without waiting for bride's guests... ngi ngo ngo... discuss... discuss... I just shut up and play with nails since I'm not fambly)
So jie jie, my heroine for the day, stood up and told the groom tensely, "Why not start at 8.30? It's raining and a weekday, I'm sure some people will be delayed. We should give them some time allowance." (Noni applauded quietly with her toes + glare at the groom + smiled sweetly at the bride)
Groom (MAYBE just remembered the wedding dinner doesnt make up of his guests only): "Oh okay okay, start at 8.30"
At this point, the biological brother (also wedding coordinator), came out and ask the whole bunch of us, "so are we starting soon?" HAHAHAHHAHAA... cant blame him, he was oblivious of the whole situation... Actually his biological brother is the nicest of the lot!! He is the most sporting of the lot and very helpful towards the bride's family. When I was alone waiting for the rest of the guests to come in, he asked the waitress to serve me a bowl of soup too. Wah very considerate!
Sigh.... quite sad I missed the march in and the montague.
I just wish my friend a blissful marriage. Though we were not the closest friends, I hope my friend makes the right choice. I'm sure there are plus points to the groom that makes her want to spend the rest of her life with him.
But I can also understand why jie jie doesnt like him. After all, my friend is very much doted by her family.
Oh well... quite a drama wedding. Wish my friend happiness forever and ever! =)
